Back home

Back home at last.  After such a great holiday.

Arrived in Singapore at 1.30am and after custom clearance etc, took cab and reached home at about 2am.  3 of us were struggling with our luggages.  I have one huge luggage, one cabin size handcarry bag and one bag of goodies bought from Narita airport.  My hands are breaking!!!  Terrible... first time bought until so heavy stuff back.

We were worried on our overweight checkin luggage but luckily the staff was kind enough to tell us to just unload some and she would let us proceed without paying for the overweight charge.  The limit was 23kg and mine was 26.4lkg.  Took out some items and final reading was 24.6kg.

3 of us were so comical as to carry the heavy bags up and down the plane.  I can sense that people are looking at us on how come we bought so much things.  Hahaha.

Slept at 5.30am after unpacking my luggages plus did one load of washing.  My dad called me at 9.30am to check if I was back.  After that, I could not sleep hence woke up and did some house cleaning.  I cleaned the mess of lizard 大便, cockroach corpses and one live medium size cockcroach before I dare to sleep.

Tonight must try to sleep earlier as tomorrow will go back to office.  I decided not to take one more day leave since I have already cleared my emails.

Home sweet home

I managed to pack all goodies into the big luggage and had to handcarry my 12 days clothing.  It was heavy and 3 of us had to slowly dragged our luggages to the airport.

Luckily we were not at peak time and train was not crowded.  Reached Ikebukoro early and we just sat there and relaxed ourselves while waiting for the NEX train that we booked seats.

Reached airport early and glad that we could do early check in as the Delta airline counters were opened.  Tulip and my luggages were overweight.  We wanted to pay for the overweight charge but the counter lady asked us to take out some stuff so that she could let us check in without the charges.  Lucky that we were early and there was no queue.  We managed to remove some weight and check in our luggages.  However, it added weight onto my handcarry bag.  .

I told them that my hands were breaking uh.  Hahaha.

Our initial plan was to go to nearby Aeon mall but the train timing was not regular.  Hence we decided to stay in the airport to do last minute shopping.

Had our delicious lunch and started our shopping.  Bought some special flavour Kit Kats.  I also bought one more Agnes B handbag.  It was the same design that I had.  I liked this design and bought a difference colour one.  Happy shopping!!!

Tokyo Disneyland

Today, we went to Disneyland.  However, we were a little bit shock to see the crowd there.  We had to queue for about 30mins just to get the tickets.  There were so.... many people and many of them dressed up in cosplay costumes.  It was Halloween theme in the park and it allowed people to dress up with the related costumes.

We got in at 11am and was so upset that all the Fastpass had issued out.  The park opened at 8.30am this morning and all FP being snatched.  So sad....

All rides need to queue for 120 to 150mins.  We decided not to queue as we would miss those parades.  Therefore, we just took our time to walk around taking photos and visited all the shops.  Previous times, we just enjoyed the rides and shopped at the end of the day at the Grand store near the entrance.

However, we were glad that we could see 3 parades and also firework today.  Initially we decided to skip the firework since it would be crowded when it ended with people rushing out of the park at the same time, however we got to see it just when we reached the JR station.  We could see it from the station.  Happy lei.

Tonight, it will be a tough time for us to squeeze our stuff into our big and hand luggages.  Happy packing... 

So sad... tomorrow going back to Singapore liao.

Shopping started again

Our itinerary today was very packed.  Morning to visit Asakusa and Skytree shopping mall, followed by buying tidbits at Ueno and lastly shopping at Shinjuku.

We pay visit at Asakusa Sensoki temple and went to Skytree station.  It was the newest mall in Tokyo and how could we missed it.  It was very crowded and we just walked around.  Back at Asakusa to have our big prawn tempura lunch.

Travelled to Ueno station to buy tidbits from the usual store we went each time.  We bought "minimum" as our luggages were very full.  Ate the pancakes that was popular there without fail.  :P

As we did not want to carry so much things, we went back to hotel to keep our tidbits since it was on the way.  Our hotel was at good location.  Very near to the JR station.  Thumbs up!

Went to Shinjuku and sad that it was still raining.  The whole day had been raining non-stop.  Our umbrellas were so busy.  Hahaha.

Bought bags from Agnes B at O1O1.  Went to Isetan and got to know that they no longer had the bags counter there.  I bought many bags (2 were for my sisters).  My mum asked me to buy one each for 3 of us as birthday presents.  I bought 1 bag for myself.  Plus 1 bag from Asakusa and 1 bag from Sapporo, I had 4 bags liao.  Good achievements but... I will have headache doing the packing into my luggage. Overweight liao!

I bought one card holder from Samantha Thavasa.  Cannot resist uh.

Had our dinner at the ramen stall that I liked.  Yummy dinner.  :)

Sapporo to Tokyo

This morning, we check out hotel and took train to New Chitose airport.  Our flight was at 1840hr but we decided to go there early for shopping since we had to check out the hotel by 10am.  We knew we could spend the time at the airport shopping for food.  Hahaha.

Reached airport and kept our luggages at the storage counter.  Did not want to carry them with us while we were shopping.  The shopping area was big.  We could not finish all the shops.  There was extension in the terminal and more shops were added.  Next time must go there even earlier.  I loved the Royce chocolate world shop and the Hello Kitty shop.  Could not resist and bought some chocolates to eat.

Flown to Narita airport and we took first available NEX train to town.  Changed to local train at Tokyo station.  The train was crowded and we had to stand till Otsuka station. 

I made a mistake in the booking.  Went to the Toyoko inn we stayed last year and only got to know that I had booked the other inn.  So blurred uh!!!  Luckily it was just nearby.  However, it was an older building and its our first time staying in such environment Toyoko Inn.  There were only 6 rooms at each floor and it was exposed to outside.  A bit scary...

Otaru

We went to Otaru today.  Finally I can take pictures with clear blue sky.  I've been to Otaru 4 times previously and only once, it was clear sky.  The rest were all raining days.  Happy uh!

Walked to the shopping area and we were all excited on the cakes and chocolates.  The shop was generous in their samples given out.  We tried one cake and it was super nice. Too bad we could not buy as the expiry date was short.  Glad that we managed to eat the limited edition cake.

Dared not buy a lot of gifts and souvenirs as my luggage was super heavy.  Bought too much cuttlefish at Hakodate.  Just bought some and headed to the musical box shops.

I bought one sheep musical box as it was very cute.  A souvenir I bought to reward myself. :)



Weather was cold but I still insisted to eat ice-cream. How can I missed it after we missed the grilled scallops as the shops were closed after our shopping.



Back in hotel early to do our packing. Tomorrow we are leaving for Tokyo. So sad... there ends our stay in Hokkaido.

Hakodate to Sapporo

In order to save time, we planned to be back in Sapporo tonight.  We check out in the morning and kept our luggage at the reception.  Took train to Onumakoen station as we wanted to visit Onuma lake. 

The lake was nice and part of the trees had turned colours.  Hence it was very beautiful.  Another plus point was the sky was blue in colour.  No rain and its a sunny day.  Good to take nice pictures.

We took our own time to walk the trails.  Initially thought the park was small but actually it was not really small.  Timing was just nice for us to complete the walk and back at station to catch our reserved seats train back to Hakodate station.

As there was nothing else to do at Hakodate, we decided to change our train timing to earlier one so that we could reach Sapporo earlier.  Initially booked for the 5 plus but we changed to 2 hours earlier.  Journey back to Sapporo was long (3 hrs 30mins).

Since we were early, we decided to find the other popular restaurant to eat buffet crabs.  Managed to find it effortless and we finally enjoyed our sumptuous buffet dinner once more.

Noboribetsu to Hakodate

This morning, I decided to go for the onsen once more before we left for Hakodate.  I woke up at 6.30am and thought it was early and should not have a lot of people.  However, it was totally wrong.  The onsen was crowded with people.  Mostly obasan.  They had habit of bathing at the onsen bath room instead of room bathroom.  I even have to queue up for bathing.

Had a good and relaxing soak in the water and I had no chance to use the dressing table.  Hence, dried my hair in own room.  I even forgot to comb my hair and just walked out.  Realised it only after stepping out and rushed to the toilet to comb before going back to room.  Blurred queen!

We took the JR limited express train to Hakodate.  Due to waking up too early, we took the opportunity to sleep in the train.  The travelling time was about 2 hrs 30 mins.  Checked in hotel immediately and went out for shopping at the Red Brick Warehouses area. 

Bought a piece of chocolate cake each and enjoyed it under the hot sun ... but the air was cold...

Our itinerary supposed to visit the Miharashi Park but we noticed that the leaves yet to turn colour at Hakodate station area hence decided not to go to the park.  We just took our own sweet time to walk around the place.  Back to hotel at around 4pm and check in.  After we settled down, we went for our dinner at the Hakodate market.  The ebi and kani tempura were very delicious.  The meat were firm firm ones.  :P

We walked to the shopping centre nearby the station but it closed quite early hence we headed back to hotel to rest.  Bought one Meiji strawberry ice-cream from 7-eleven and I was hooked to this nice ice-cream.  I want to eat one more time !!!

Sapporo to Noboribetsu onsen

We took early train out of Sapporo to Noboribetsu so that we could have more time there.  Just staying one night at the onsen and tomorrow will head out to Hakodate.

Need to take local bus from JR station to the onsen.  Timing just nice that we managed to get on the bus once we reached the station.  It was raining...

We found our hotel and borrowed umbrellas from the bus terminal office.  Very convenient as visitors can just take and return after use. 

The check in time was 3pm hence we kept our small luggage with the concierge.  Had a little commotion as we were worried that we went to the wrong hotel.  It was a very nice and good environment hotel that we wondered if we were at correct hotel.  We paid 9000yen per pax for a night stay with 2 meals.  Went to double check the hotel address and tel no to ensure we were correct.  Glad that we were correct and we really got a good rate.  Normal rate should be around 13000yen per pax.  We booked early hence can enjoy the good rate.

Went out immediately to Jigokudani (Hell valley).  It was raining but once we reached there, it stopped.  Glad that we could take nice pictures.  I went there twice with group tour and did not have much time to spend there.  Thought it was just one place to view the sulphuric spring water.  We decided to take the trail to the footbath area.

The rain stopped and that made us easier to walk on the slippery route.  Managed to take nice photos.  So happy....

Dinner was buffet style and the only thing I was looking foward to is...  unlimited king crabs!

After much consideration, we decided to proceed to enjoy the onsen together.  Initially we dare not go together but ultimately did not want to waste the chance hence 不管一切了!

Houheikyou area

Today, we visited Houheikyou Dam.  Initially we thought of going to Jozankei onsen for a walk but realised that it was just a town with many many onsens.  Not much sightseeing place hence we skipped it.

We had a long walk to the dam (one way tunnel is 2km) and took the shuttle bus back to catch the free bus to the bus station.  The place was nice with leaves starting to turn colours.  Very nice and relaxing place.

Back to Sapporo station at about 5pm and we walked to 狸小路 to buy tidbits.  After that, we searched for the way to the recommended restaurant that served buffet king crabs etc.  Managed to find it and started our food spree.

We were too slow and did not manage to eat a lot of the crabs.  The grilling took quite some time.  Decided to try steamboat type for our next crabs meal.

Overall still very very good meal!

Ohayo Sapporo

Ohayo Sapporo! 

Woke up after one night of good sleep.  Slept through the night.  As Toyoko Inn did not have triple sharing room, I am staying in a single room while Tulip and 小珠 shared a twin room.  In the past, I will definitely not want to choose to stay alone but looks like I am now well trained to sleep by myself.

Our first itineary for today was to go to Takinoue park.  I only got to know that Yubari city is famous for melon.  Therefore we shared one big piece of melon just outside the park.  It was so so so sweet.  Unforgetable sweetness!

We thought the park was big hence I catered a few hours to stay there.  In the end, we finished walking within one hour.  Hence we decided to take earlier local train to catch the first available limited express train back to Sapporo.  Luckily we managed to get one train earlier.

Back in Sapporo early and we took our time to enjoy our dinner at the shopping mall near Sapporo station.  Had tempura don and it was very very nice.  The ebi was huge and with firm meat.  :)

Arrived in Hokkaido

After a long flight, we arrived in Narita airport.  Had breakfast and lunch in the plane hence we just headed to check in for our domestic fight at Jetstar counter. 

We arrived in Sapporo Toyoko Inn at night hence just had dinner and no place for shopping.  Shopping centres closed very early here.

I was so tired...  Fun part was we were give an apple, yogurt and cake just after take off.  We thought that it was our only meal and was so miserable.  The itinerary showed meal on board was breakfast.  Tulip was hungry after few hours and asked for snacks.  The airstewardess then said meal would be served soon.  Finally we had our proper meal.  Hahaha.

Glad that Toyoko Inn now has wireless available in rooms too.  However, it is tortoise slow.

We had seafood ramen as our first meal in Sapporo.  The portion was very big.  I tried to eat all the ingredients and just left some ramen.  Satisfied meal after the long flight.

Get ready... to go

Glad to be back in office working.  Had to finish my work and handover properly before I go for my leave.  Hence stayed till 8.30pm and went for dinner with 小珠.  Tried the newly opened restaurant (Ichiban Sushi) and so surprised that at that hour, it was still crowded.  Believe this restaurant had the most customers at that hour.  ARC is a ulu place.

Ordered 2 sets for sharing.  The food was tasty and with good standard.  Can go there more often in future. 

Back home at 11.30pm.  Ironed my clothes and bathed.  Shall do last minute packing and prepare to leave house at 3 to 3.15pm.  Had booked my uncle's cab hence safer for me.  :)

I am ready to fly!!!!

Finally its over

So happy that the 2 days event was over finally.  I can rest my legs now and prepare to get ready for my trip on Saturday early morning.  Have booked my uncle's cab so that it is safer for me to take his car to airport.

Have to see the doctor again tomorrow to get some medicine.  My cough still there and voice still hoarse.  Hope it will be fine soon.  I am waiting to eat sashimi, tempura prawns, unagi, snowcrabs, ramen and many many more good food.

Wait for me Japan!!!!

Super tired and will try to sleep earlier tonight.  2 days waking up at 6am is a torture for me.

Legging breaking!

Woke up at 5.50am and left house at 7.15pm.  Done some washing of clothes since its still early when I woke up.  Weather not very good these few days hence needs longer time to dry the clothing.  I want to wash as many clothes as possible and don't keep too many soiled clothes in the laundry bag for 12 days.

My colleague picked me up at Labrador Park station and sent me to RWS.  Ai yoh!!! I cannot tahan the crowd in the train at peak hour.  I was perspiring on the whole trip as we were packed in the carriage like sardine.  I could not even move and my whole face and back was "raining".  Never never squeezed into packed train again.  Aircon was all "absorbed" by the people.  Really want to faint...

I stood at the booth whole day and talking non stop.  My throat is hurting as my voice becoming "sexier and sexier".  Hope it can be back to normal soon.  At the end of the day, my legs are so aching until now I cannot even walk properly.  Need to sit more often tomorrow.  One more day to go....

Still the same

Today, still no improvement on my throat and it seems to be getting worse.  Really hate it.  Why so many days still cannot recover?  I have already drank a lot of water and try not to take spicy food.  Really wish it will be fine tomorrow. 

Was so busy with the next 2 days exhibition and could not finish my work hence worked late.  Tomorrow have to wake up by 6am.  Must sleep at 12am uh.

How I wish tomorrow can no need to go.  I am sick lei!!!

Busy monday

Today is a busy day for me.  There are a lot of sales enquiries and also have to prepare for our exhibition stuffs.  Cannot clear my work and had to stay overtime.  Hope this week, I do not have to work so late.  Cannot get tired else I cannot recover from my sore throat/cough/stuffy nose.  I need more rest uh!  However, I think I will lack of rest as Wed and Thu, have to wake up early to be at RWS by 8 - 8.15am.  Siong uh!

Sleepy

Woke up at 10am.  Was tired...

Had breakfast and followed by medicine.  One of the medicince caused drowsiness hence I kept feeling sleepy.  Had a short nap at 3pm and woke up at 4pm as we need to prepare to go out for our dinner.  Meeting my aunt's family at Yio Chu Kang Sakura restaurant for dinner.  Its to celebrate my elder sister's birthday.  It happens that both me and my younger sis will be travelling on her birthday hence we had it today in advance.  Only my younger sis cannot make it as she is now in Lijiang.

Did not eat much thing today.  I am just feeling tired.  Coughing on and off until my parents felt so uncomfortable (I was like coughing my lungs out!)  Voice improved a bit today but still hoarse.  Cannot talk too much.

Busy house girl

Woke up at 9.45am.  Had a missed call at 5.30am.  I knew who called but I simply ignore.  Shhhh dun tell my boss.  Anyway I know the thing will be solved and no need so urgent to answer the overseas call.

Done cleaning of my house and washing clothes from 10am to 1.30pm  Did some packing for my trip too.  A lot of items still cannot be packed as it can only be done nearer to the day.  Shall add in bit by bit.

Next week will be busy week.  I must ensure I have enough rest in order to recover from my sore throat, cough and stuffy nose.

No voice since last night.  My auntie could not recognise my voice when she called me and thought I was overseas.  Hahaha.

Sick.

My throat is still sore and coughing too. Nose also stuffy. Hence, decided to see doctor to get some medicine. Better don't play play. Next week going for my trip liao. My colleague was sick too hence we went together. The doctor gave me medicine for the full package. Full package meant I got sore throat + cough + running nose. Given anti-botics too hence it is really bad.

This evening, had dinner at Mos burger with our colleague. Had some chit chatting before going for our movie. We were slightly late and missed a bit of the show.

Movie had no subtitles and I had some difficulty understanding some of the parts. English not powerful siah. The movie is quite good overall. A lot of thinking to understand the situation.  Had a good and relaxing Friday night.

One more day to go

One more day and its Friday.  Happy happy day.

I kept thinking that today is Friday because my colleague is on leave tomorrow and I was passing him some notes for him to cover me while I am on leave.  Had the feeling that its Friday today and have to finish up things by today.

This weekend will be busy.  I need to do housework on Saturday and also to start packing for my trip.  Tomorrow going to change currency.  So excited and looking forward to this trip.  I am going to spend $$ on seafood.  Eat and eat and eat. 

Thank goodness

Glad that I am feeling better this morning and till now.  I was so worried that I will be sick today.  Yesterday night really felt terrible.  Thank goodness that I could still go to work. 

These few days will be busy with next week roadshow.  Also need to prepare coverage notes for my colleagues as I will be on leave from following Monday.

Had lunch at Star Vista mall.  Initially wanted to go for the highclass foodcourt but in the end decided to try ramen at Menya Musashi.  I think we will not go there again as the ramen and side dish were so salty.  I can eat salty stuff but today's were really over my limit liao.  I had to drink hot tea and other sweet stuff to neutralise my tongue.

Left office slightly late tonight and done my sweeping and mopping.  Shall rest early tonight too :)

Unwell

I am feeling rather unwell today.  After lunch, felt listless and initially I thought I was sleepy after lunch.  However, felt cold when I reached office and a bit of aching.  My throat is starting to sore and hope it will not turn bad tomorrow.

Feeling tired now and shall rest early tonight.  Don't even have the "feel" to watch drama.

Shall lie on my big bed and stare at the ceiling.  Hahaha...

First dish

Still have so many eggs left in the fridge.  I decided to fry 2 eggs to clear the stock.  Don't want to waste the eggs if not consumed by 19 Oct.

Managed to cook an edible dish.  Not too bad lah.  Using olive oil gave by my colleague.  Soy sauce from sushi set. 

Finally cooked my first dish at home.

Shopping again.

Today my niece finally came to our house.  We did not see her for almost a month.  She just finished her PSLE exam and is now a "free" girl.  No tuition, no homework and could play the whole day.

We went to Tampines as my brother-in-law wanted to buy new phone since he had a voucher.  However, to utilise the voucher will need him to change his current plan to a higher subscription plan.  No point spending extra hence he decided not to buy.

My sister wanted to buy shoes for office wear.  Influenced by her, I bought a pair too.  It never ever come across my mind that I will buy such colour but... I still decided to buy it as the grey colour I wanted had no more stock.  My elder sister took the last pair. My younger sister said it is nice.  Lucky uh.... 

Continued spending on this pair of shoe today.  Must make a stop uh.  Just one weekend and I spent so much.  Must save must save must save.... for my trip.

Shopping day

Wow.... today is my shopping day.

Had my haircut at 2pm at Plaza Singapura and met up with my mum and sister at Paul's cafe at Ngee Ann City.  Finally managed to eat the rasberries tart.  It so happened that my colleague saw me and called me on the phone. 

Headed to Ion's Uniqlo to look for the jackets that I eyed on them yesterday.  However, this outlet was small hence did not carry one of it.  Hence, decided to look for it at Vivocity outlet.  We took train to Chinatown and had porridge for dinner.  My mum craved for it hence we brought her there today.  After that, we walked over to Peoples Park complex as my sister's neck was pain and wanted to have a massage.  However, the shops did not look hygenic hence we dropped the idea.

Took train to Vivocity and we made bookings at Kenko for shoulder massage.  The slot available was at 9.15pm hence we had 1 hour to shop.  Went to Vivocity and after some discussion, I decided to buy both jackets that I was eyeing.  My sister said blue was nicer hence I bought it.  Left 2 pieces only.  So happy...  Have new clothes for my trip.

Walked quite a lot today hence felt tired.  The shoulder massage really "woke me up" as it was rather pain.  However, it did relax my muscles.  The lady said that my waist is very tight.  Better go for body massage to loosen it.  Shall make appointment again.  We signed up the shoulder massage package since my sister visits there quite often and its near her office.  The signed up package can save $10 per session.  The package is for 12 sessions.  I can also make bookings and go together on Saturday.

Spent quite a lot today.  Happy is the key word to overwrite heartpain.  Hee hee... excuses!

Good movie

TGIF!  Finally after 5 days wait.

Had a very heavy lunch this afternoon.  We gave a treat to our colleague who will be leaving our company next week.  Decided to have lunch at Holland Village Swenson but only got to know it was already closed for business when we reached there.  Therefore, find alternate place and decided on Breko. 

3 of us ordered same Hawaiian grilled chicken, 1 ordered sambal seafood pasta and 1 ordered breaded fish.  They were all super nice.  No regrets of missing Swenson food  Will bring my mum there next time.  Each portion was big and we enjoyed the food with interesting gossips.

The day passed quite fast although I felt so sleepy after heavy lunch.  No bosses today as quite a no of my team members took leave today.

Left office at 7 plus and went shopping instead of dinner.  We were still very full.  Went to Uniqlo and found 2 jackets that I like.  Planning to go again tomorrow.  One of the jacket is quite ex.  $69.90 for a piece of thin light jacket.  In fact, more to be a more feminine wind breaker.  Shall decide if I should buy tomorrow.

Watched movie "Taken 2".  It was real good.  Very exciting and we enjoyed the movie.

Happy

Very happy day.  Finally our office atmosphere back to normal liao.  No longer that quiet.  :)

Another good news is I am able to watch j-dramas from another website.  Although a bit slow but still better than nothing.

Glad that tomorrow is Friday.  Finally...

Very hot Wednesday.  No sign of rain and whole day was so hot.  Hope the weather can turn cooler.

Without J-drama days are so plain and "lifeless".  Hope it can resumed soon in PPS.

Another day

Another day passed.  Glad that left 3 days and its Friday.

Its an usual working day with no special event.  Left office at 7.10pm.  Happy to be back home by 8pm.  :)

Sad.. so touching

Left office real early today at 6.45pm.  Reached Serangoon station at 7.40pm and decided to get the cable for my TV.  My sister had broke the cable pin yesterday hence need to get replacement.  My colleague accompanied me as she also wanted to buy a connector for her SCV box.  After the purchase, I followed her to buy noodles for dinner.  Therefore, I had dinner tonight.

Washed my bedsheets as it was already 3 weeks old.  Initially thought of skipping dry mopping of the floor.  However, decided to do it as planned.  After all done, sat down and had my dinner while watching HK drama.  No J drama so watch HK drama first.

I watched epi 20 of On Call 36 last Sunday.  Decided to just continue from this episode.  Ai yoh... the few stories so touching until I cried uh.  So embarrassing.  Luckily no one see uh.

Hope I can go back home early for the rest of the week/month/year.   Really enjoy more time at home.  :)
