Need technical support

Quite a peaceful Monday for me. Not a lot of urgent matters for me to settle hence I could take my own pace to complete all tasks. My blood pressure should be below borderline today. Ha ha...

The only thing that made me panic during evening time was : my email account was locked!!! Luckily my IT colleague was still around and helped me to monitor and unlock it. Otherwise, I cannot read my emails and access to our network. In simple wordings : CANNOT WORK. This will be a disaster for me if it really happens.

Back home, my sister gives me an assignment to be her technical support. Of course I am not an expert but... definitely better than her. Ha ha...

Her laptop has this problem where she cannot locate her DVD CD-Rom drive. After figuring out, it appears that the harddisk drive is automatically removed each time her pc boot up. Strange... Need to find out how to clear this problem. Shall ask for SOS from 小珠. Her IT knowledge is better than mine a lot. Hee hee.

Excursion

Excursion? Yah... excursion!

This word did not appear in my life ever since I left Secondary school days. This is a commonly used word during our school days but not when we are now working.

Reason? Ha ha... because of my niece lor. Today we travelled to my elder sister's house instead of them coming over to ours. We decided to bring my niece to Singapore Science Centre. This really reminded me of my school days when we always had excursions to this popular place.

After spending about 3 hours there, I found that this place is totally revamped and I cannot find traces of those exhibits I saw last time. They are so "high-tech" now. Scary...

My niece was extremely happy today. When she knew we will be going to her house today, she did her homework super fast after her tuition this morning. After she finished, she kept asking her mother when will we be reaching.

She enjoyed her excursion to Singapore Science Centre (though she went there many times liao) and happily dropped a few lines on what she did today on her notebook while waiting for dinner to be served at Hoshi restaurant (IMM). Title is "Did I enjoy". She wrote down what she had for breakfast and lunch, her visit to Singapore Science Centre & what she ordered for dinner tonight. She finished those dishes she chose and really had good appetite. Good girl.

After dinner, she wanted to go to Daiso. As usual, she zoomed in to the section selling erasers (she likes erasers). But this time round, with me around, she bought additional items. Apart from one packet of erasers, she chose origami papers and stickers. I recalled she said to her mother that she has a lot of stickers at home so she wanted to buy a ball i/o stickers at Singapore Science Centre. But now... she bought stickers. Cunning girl... She knows how to prioritise what she can get each time. Hee hee.

Overall, I enjoyed the afternoon spent with her. 2 weeks did not see her and really miss her. Next week she is having her CA exam and will not be coming over to our house. So, we can only see her 2 weeks later. Hope she will do well on her coming exam. Good luck!

PS : Glad to know that Takeru has recovered (sick since one week ago).

Shopping with mum

Today, I woke up late as usual. As my sister went out to watch a drama, I went to Bugis with my mum. Our main intention was to go to the temple for prayer.

After we went to the temple, we decided to eat "Ice". Don't worry... not drugs lah... It is to eat ice with fruits at Ice Monster at Bencoolen Street. This restaurant is a branch of Taiwan popular dessert store chain. We ordered the popular one with Kiwi, Mango and Strawberry fruits + Mango sorbet ice-cream toppings. As both of us do not like milk, we requested to have the dessert without milk. Yummy. As the weather was so hot, after having this dessert made us feel like bathing in a pool of ice water. Ha ha...

As it was still early, we went to Iluma shopping mall. After walking around, we felt not much things to see so we went over to Bugis Junction. My mum wanted to buy a pair of shoe hence we zoomed in to the shoes section. I bought a pair of scholl shoe for her and for myself, I bought a pair of slipper. The price between this two pair of shoes are so extreme. $78 vs $9. Hee hee.

The Proposal

Yup... this is the movie we watched today ~ The Proposal.

This is a comedy movie and it did make me feel happy after watching it. We were laughing all the way and some of the scenes are really that funny until you cannot stop laughing. Very good one and highly recommended to watch it.

Before the show, we had our dinner at restaurant Central located at VivoCity B2. This restaurant is there for so long and it is the first time I dine there. Same as 小珠. We saw the advertisement outside the restaurant for their grill set and I was attracted with the dessert, 杨汁甘露 (hope I spelt it correctly). I've ordered the mixed grill set and 小珠 ordered the fish and chips. The food is not bad. For the dessert, not bad too but we feel that the one at Tung Lok is better.

Overall, still a good Friday for me.

Today is Friday. A day I am looking forward to since Monday. However, there is still sad news for my family. News of my cousin's death came to us yesterday. He was at his early 30s and we just knew that he was fallen to his death from 10th storey of his rented unit at 4am. Police classified his death as suicide due to clues revealed that he fell out from kitchen and found no foul play. But my sister and I really think there are more to it. My aunt heard from his girlfriend that he was still keeping in touch with her on MSN night before and playing online games. No sign of suicide at all. Not sure whether his family (father and brothers) will pursue the case. He was cremated today at 6pm. As I am working today and cannot take leave, I cannot send him off. Hope he will rest in peace.

BBQ

Today I left office early at around 6.45pm (actually not that early lah) and took MRT to Tanah Merah station. From there, I took a cab to Safra country club for the BBQ. When I reached, I thought I am the last one and food are ready but surprisingly, my sister and friend were just starting the fire. I have no experience on starting fire so I just helped on miscellaneous things.

Halfway through, raindrops started to come down. Oh dear... hope not heavy rain. Otherwise we have to stop the BBQ. Luckily, just a shortwhile of raindrops coming down and we managed to continue with the BBQ. So sinful, I ate until so full. Just came back from the chalet and had to wash my hair as they are so oily.

I went to 小珠 blog and learn the latest tutorial on colour isolation. So amazing that there are so many ways to edit our photo. Photoshop program is so powerful. Below is my trial copy.

Mid week

Wow Wow It's mid week liao. Happy Happy...

Today is rather peaceful and glad that I can leave office at around 7.50pm. We had a mini party at around 6.30pm where everyone started to look for food. Perhaps after the peak hours from 4.30 to 6.30pm, many of us felt so tired and hungry. Luckily we have some cookies from Hong Kong which one of our customer gave to us during their visit.

Tomorrow I have to leave office early and hopefully by 6pm. I am going for a barberque at Safra Tanah Merah. My sister and her friend booked a chalet from Tue to Thu. However, I cannot take leaves so cannot stay at the chalet. Will just join the barberque. If I leave at 6pm, I will only arrive there around 7.30pm. Just nice for the food. Hee hee...

Got some tips from 小珠 on how to do better in my photo editing to create lomo effect. I realised I had followed the wrong instruction when I went throught the online tutorial yesterday. I have done some double editing and missed out some steps too. Blurred liao. Tried today on one of the photo. Rather pleased with it although this is just some simple editing. More to learn. :)

New Interest

It seems that now I am getting more and more interested in taking nice photographs. When the picture turns out nice, I am real happy.

I am starting to learn more on lomography and hope that it will help to enhance those photos I have taken. Still on learning stage and seems there are a lot more to learn before I can get the best result.

I just learnt from 小珠 on how to create a lomo effect photo. As I am doing it at home, not really know how to do it best. Just try my luck to see if I can create a different effect photo from my existing photo taken from digital camera. Will try to learn more so that I can do better in future.

Sunday is over

Time flies. It is now night of Sunday. Tomorrow has to go back to work. Sad sad...

Good news is : Boss not around. Travelling! Yippy Yippy!

Today I stayed at home whole day. Woke up late as usual and started to watch some of Naruto episodes which I stopped quite some time ago. Still have a few episodes to go before the latest episode. It's ok... watch them slowly.

My mum cooked my favourite meat balls (prawn + pork) for dinner. Yummy. So nice until I kept eating and was too full to take rice hence skipped it. Naughty and greedy right??? Ha ha...

Ok lah. Shall try to sleep early today. Otherwise, my colleagues will see another panda tomorrow. :P

Great dinner

My father had been hinting to us that his mobile phone is giving problem. Therefore, we decided to go out for dinner tonight and buy a new phone for him.

As usual, the most convenient place for us to go is Tampines. We had our dinner at Tampines 1 foodcourt (Kopitiam). As my sister and mum were not too hungry, we bought fried prawn noodles, sambal sotong and oyster with egg for sharing. Don't play play... These made us very full especially after eating the famous Chendol. I highly recommend this dessert as it is really tasty and price is reasonable. $2 with lots of ingredients. We ordered 2 to share among 4 of us.

Bought 2 phones ultimately. I had a $100 voucher and since the phone we chose was $0 value when we did a 2 year contract renewal, we decided to top up and purchase another phone for my mum. In the end, my parents now own same phone model. Hope they don't get confuse and take the wrong phone. Ha ha...

My sister and I bought a T-shirt each from Uniqlo. Both purple colour but with different design. She likes the one I have but there is no small size for her. Therefore, she can only buy another design. Too bad... ask her to eat more and get fatter. Then can buy the design she likes. Lame right? Ha ha...

3D

This week is really a very tired week for me. After I am back from Japan trip, I felt so tired and no mood to work. Still in holiday mood!

Just back home after watching movie "Up". We chose to watch the 3D version as we grow to like it very much. The graphics and effects are better. This movie is good and I like its starting. Not much speech but it showed a very heartwarming story of a couple. So sad when Elle passed away. Again... sacrificed some of my tears... The other characters are cute too. Let me feel young again whenever I watch such movies. I love fantasy stuffs and sometime tends to wonder, how nice it is if I can be in the story. Overall, thumbsup for this movie.

Seems 3D is getting popular and there are many upcoming movies. Shall look out for them and watch all of them! Ha ha.

Made up my mind

Today is a good day because no bosses around. Ha ha...

I was so tired and lazy to work after lunch. Thought of "eat snake" for a while in the afternoon but end up still working hard.

Finally, I decided to cut down my time playing facebook games. Therefore, goodbye to Restaurant City, Farm Town and FarmVille. I realised I do not have enough time to do everything so have to sacrifice them.

Due to the short hours sleep for past few days during my trip, I am still feeling tired and have panda eyes. With my size, really look like a panda now. Ha ha ha...

Back to work

Finally back to work today after the weekend + holiday break. Really hope for longer breaks.

Managed to clear my work and be home by 10pm. Thought of sorting out my photos which I had transferred from camera to pc but am rather tired so decided to postpone. Perhaps to wait till I combined all photos taken by Tulip, 小珠 and myself before doing the sorting out. Lazy girl right?

My dad's phone is not working properly and has hinted us that he needs to have a new one. Since I have a $100 voucher from M1, will buy one for him this weekend. Shopping again on this Saturday. Hope not to spend too much $$$. :)

Back home safely

Hello.... I'm back! This ends my 5 days 3 nights holiday in Tokyo. What a short one...

We had late dinner yesterday and ended up sleeping at 2.45am. Went to the same restaurant as we were too tired to look for another one that open till late hours and also partly due to the food there is so nice and of reasonable price. The most happiest part is... we managed to eat the seasonal honeydew that were sold out on previous 2 nights. We ordered 2 pieces and they were soooooo sweet. Yummy.

Our flight was at 11.30am and arrived Changi airport at around 5pm which was ahead of the eta (5.40pm). I was carrying a big big bag of titbits. Did some last minute shopping at Narita airport hence my bag had grown fatter and heavier. Tried some of the cakes I bought and they were nice. Next time I know I can buy them again.

Finished unpacking and washed my clothing immediately. Managed to store my titbits in proper place too (else my mum will scream at the mess). After settling down, I started to read my emails so that I can clear them before I am back in office tomorrow. Do not want to be too blur on what's happening. Just cleared them and now I am in the mid of transferring my photos to pc. Also at the same time, playing my facebook games. Multi-tasking! I suddenly remember that I yet to take dinner. Ha ha....

Early this morning (5.07am), there was an earthquake measured magtitude of 6.4 at Shizuoka. This was felt in Tokyo too. I woke up at 5am (need to catch bus to airport at 7am) and was showering halfway when I felt giddy and cannot stand properly. First thought was, am I too hungry that I am feeling weak and giddy??? But after few seconds, I was sure that this was not the case because I saw the hanger swinging quite vigorously. I guessed it should be an earthquake and tried to stabalised myself before continuing my shower and be out of the bathroom asap. Luckily it was a minor one in Tokyo and there was no need for evacuation.

I better rest early today so that I will not become a zombie tomorrow in office. :)

Disneyland - World of Fantasy

Today we went to Tokyo disneyland. A place where all adults will turn to kids. A world full of fantansy.

However, it really disappointed us when we got to know that it was raining outside before we stepped out of the hotel. We prayed hard that the rain will stop when we reached the resort. It did stopped for a while when we reached the resort but started to rain for hours before it stopped at around 3pm.

We were all wet as the rain was rather heavy. Thank goodness that it stopped just before the parade started. Otherwise, the parade will be cancelled which we will definitely be very very very disappointed.

We took quite a number of rides and the most exciting one is Space Mountain. I took the ride once during my trip to USA about 10 years ago. Although I went to Disneyland twice in the recent years, I had no chance to take. Either it was under maintainance or the queue was too long. Finally I was able to take the ride again. Such an exciting and thrilling ride.

As 小珠 and myself went to take the Winnie the Pooh ride, we missed the early part of the night parade. However, still glad that we managed to catch the second half. Tulip managed to watch the full parade as she was not feeling well and decided not to take the ride with us. She was afraid she will be a merlion (vomiting).

The day passed so fast and we ended our fantasy day after buying some souvenirs and left the resort. I bought a Winnie the Pooh Popcorn bucket home.

We had our dinner at the same restaurant again (3 days in a row) and finally we managed to eat the honeydew. They were so sweet and juicy. No regrets liao. Today we had our dinner at a very late hour. Tomorrow still have to wake up early to catch our airport limousine bus to Narita airport. Before going back to hotel, we went to the nearby convenient shop (Am/Pm) and I bought some cakes home. It looked ordinary but it really taste good.

How I wish we can have more days in Tokyo. Not enough. Not enough.
