Japan trip day 4 ~ Arashiyama

This morning, we went to Arashiyama.  Took JR train there and when we reached there, we purchased tickets for the scenic train at 12.07pm.  As we had some time before the train time, we walked to the tourist spots.

The train was a very leisure trip and we liked it.  Too bad cherry blossom was over.  Otherwise, the view will be very nice.

After the train ride, we went to the bamboo grove.  Too bad there were too many people and we could not take very nice pictures of the quiet bamboos.  Overall, it was a very relaxing trip.

We took train back to Kyoto station and went for a walk around the station.  Went to the Sky garden and Sky way.  Followed by shopping at The Cube and Porta.  Bought some comestic stuff today.

The shoyu cuttlefish was super nice.  Yummy!  Had chocolate parfait as dessert.

Had ramen for dinner and headed back to hotel.

Legs are very pain.... Hope tomorrow will recover.

Japan trip day 3 ~ Inari, Kyoto

Pain uh!!!  My legs are breaking!!!

Today, we went to Fushimi Inari Shrine.  This shrine is famous with its thousands of Torii gates.  We decided to climb to the top since we had time. 

Initial route was ok but it began to have lots of steps.  After climbing for about an hour, I was so tired and had to catch my breathe frequently.  My stamina was very bad.  In the end, the 4km journey which people took 2hrs, we took 3hrs.  Thanks to me lah.  Hahaha.

We had tako balls and pancake after we left the shrine.  Then took a train to Kyoto station.  Since it was still early, we decided to visit Kiyomizudera Temple.  We walked fm the station to the place and it was so tiring.  Our morning walk was exhausting and this walk worsen my legs condition.  My legs are very aching.

After the visit, we took bus back to the station and had dinner there. Nice dinner made us forgot the tiredness for a while. Decided to go back hotel to rest as we really have no strength to walk anymore. Back in hotel at around 8.45pm. Super early. :)

Japan trip day 2 ~ Osaka & Himeji

Woke up at 7.30am this morning.  Had a very deep and good sleep hence feeling fresher today. 

We had our breakfast and left for Himeji.  Breakfast was good.  I liked the potato salad and the pickles.  Sausages too.

Left hotel at about 9.45am and took a rapid train to Himeji station.  We took a nap in the one hour plus journey.  Walked to Himeji castle and we were happy to see a few sakura trees which still had flowers blooming.  Took some pictures of them and glad to see at least some.  We ate ice-creams too.  They were very very nice.

While taking pictures of the castel, we met Shiromaruhime and chasing after her to take pictures.  The staff must be wondering what were we doing.  Hahaha.

Took a short break at the garden before heading back to the station.  Initially we thought we will make a fast one since no more cherry blossom.  In the end, we spent a few hours there before going back to Osaka station.

We walked around Osaka station and the shopping area are so big till we lost our directions.  We can actually spent about 4 hours in just 2 malls and not even walked the whole area.  How to finish all???

I bought quite a lot of things today and they are heavy.  Hope rest of the days, I will not buy too heavy things.  :)

Had Okonomiyaki and Yaki Soba for dinner tonight.  Very locally made and super delicious.

My legs are very aching ah. 

Japan trip day 1 ~ Osaka

After 9 hours of travelling, finally we reached Osaka.  Took rapid train to Shin-osaka where our hotel is after exchanged the JR west passes.  There was a long queue at immigration and although we touched down at about 11.40pm, we managed to clear immigration at around 1.30pm.

We reached hotel at about 3.30pm and checked in.  Went out after tidying our bags.  Bought waffles for snacks as we were a bit hungry.  Had our 2 breakfasts at 2.30am and 7.30am sin time.  Hahaha.

First visit was Osaka castle.  We found a few trees with some sakura flowers still clinging on them when we reached there at about 5.30pm.  Took some pictures and they looked as if it was full bloomed.  Hee hee...

We left at around 7pm and went to Osaka station for shopping.  Bought some stuff and had dinner at one of the restaurant at one of the shopping centre.  Very delicious and we were very satisfied. 

Back in hotel at 10.45pm.  Quite tired as no good sleep in the plane.  Yawn!!!  Look forward to tomorrow.  :)

Its the day!

Finally its Friday!

I had dried all the laundries and ensure all things are kept properly.  10 days out and I think my sister has no time to come and check my house while I am away.

Our flight is 2.15am by Jetstar and will transit in Manila.  Hope I can at least take a short nap on board the plane so that tomorrow, we can cheong liao when we reach Osaka.

Had fish porridge for dinner and ate all my fruits in the fridge.  Cannot keep the fruits as they will turn bad.

I am ready to go to the airport!  Osaka ~ I am coming!!!!

Preparation

Today, I continued to prepare for my trip.  Packed most of my stuff in and I decided to use my big luggage.  At least I do not need to squeeze my things.  If I use my smaller luggage, it will be 3/4 full.

Weather was good today.  Washed clothes and they were dried pretty soon.

Will try to make my house as tidy as possible so that by the time I am back, hope it is not too dusty.

Did not watch any jdramas or anime today

This afternoon, my mum came to my house as I forgot to bring some doc back and my sister pestered my mum to bring over since she was free.  Also to give her chance to walk more.

I told her it was ok if I did not get it but she said she wanted to buy breads from NEX for tomorrow breakfast so she was coming.  My bro came with her to NEX and they packed lunch for me.  My bro was running late for work hence just helped my mum to carry her stuff here and left.

My mum stayed till around 2.30pm and took bus home as she still needed to cook dinner.  I spent some time purchasing from Gmarket.  I got the sink roll for her as she can place the kettle on it while filling up water from the tap.  She needs not hold on to it as it is heavy.  She saw mine and said it is useful.  Also spent some time surfing on any useful items to buy.  But none...

It was close to 5pm and I nearly too lazy to go for the work.  However, I pushed myself to go as I intend to skip it tomorrow.  Happy to brisk walk for 40 mins.

Cooked dinner tonight.  Bee hoon with Yong Tau Fu.  Followed by fruits that brought over from Pasir Ris home.

Beauty day

I went for early lunch with my mum and bro at White Sands mall.  We had McDonald meals.  Quite some time didn't eat their burgers and found it nice.  Ordered fries without salts.  I told my bro this is the trick to get fresh and hot fries.

After lunch, we went to NTUC Fairprice as usual.  Its Tuesday and 乐龄 day where my mum can get additional 5% disc.  Bought some bread home too.  I bought 6 pcs of chocolate rolls for my breakfast for Wed to Fri.  

I had DRX lazer treatment at 2.30pm hence I took train to Orchard.  My mum and bro went home themselves.  Today I was on time and glad that I just waited for a while and its my turn.  The staff cleaned my face and I waited for Dr Tan.

Today, Dr Tan told me that he would use stronger power on my face.  For the past 3 times, they were not so powerful and I felt almost nothing on my face.  However, today's really got power uh.  I felt pinches of pain all over my face.  Especially when it came near my lips.  Dr told me it could removed my tiny hairs near my upper lips.  Hahaha.. so funny.

The pain was bearable but just because it was my first time having such powerful lazer treatment on my face, I was a bit scared.  I could "see" the rays even when I closed my eyes and were covered up.  However, as long as it remove my freckles, I am happy. 

Dr Tan said this lazer treatment will make my skin fairer too.  I think so uh.  I did asked doctor whether is it correct that after the past treatments, the freckles are more visible.  Maybe its because my skin are fairer and makes the freckles more visible.  They have changed the equipment and heard that current one is more powerful and more effective.  The best part is there is no down time (ie no bleeding or redness that stays for few days).

Back home after "tabaoing" a lot of fruits back.  My mum asked me to bring home to eat.  I took 2 golden kiwi, a small bunch of grapes and a box of strawberries.  I also bought a piece of fish meat and yong tau fu for cooking of dinner for next few days.

Today is Yamapi's birthday.  Happy birthday P chan!!!

Candy Crush saga ~ I am Crushed

Today, I spent most of the timing playing Candy Crush Saga.  I managed to clear one stubborn level and continued to play the following levels.  However, I am not stuck at level 265.  Very difficult stage.  Its a stage that needs to clear jellies at the 8 corners.  The jellies are not one layer.  They have 2 layers and with limited moves, I have problem clearing them.  Guess I will be stucked at this level for some time liao.

Good weather

This afternoon, we left house at about 3pm to Choa Chu Kang Columbarium.  Its Qing Ming festival period and there was a jam along the way near the location.  Luckily the jam was not as bad as 2 years ago where we were stucked for an hour.  The good part was weather was good and not very hot.  Otherwise, we will become suckling pigs....

We met up with our aunt's family and did the visiting + praying.  The place was very crowded and hot. 

It was 5.30pm and we decided to go for dinner.  My aunt's family had late lunch hence decided not to go with us.  I recommended my family members the West Coz cafe at West Coast plaza. 

As we were quite early, we managed to get parking lot with no issue.  However, the cafe was so popular that we had to wait for about 30mins for a table.  We ordered the set menu and I recommended those dishes I used to eat with my colleagues. 

When food was served and all tried the food, they said it was good.  Next time if have chance, will go again.

We went to the Japanese store as I wanted to buy the fruity ice-creams.  While walking towards the store, I saw someone familiar.  It was my niece and next to her was my sister.  They were buying breads.  I happened to wonder how come this bakery shop had no bread on display but still there were people buying things.  The "people" were my niece and sister.  If I was not KPO, we would have missed them.

My sister asked if I wanted to buy ice-creams.  I said yes and how she knew.  She said saw my dad carrying the cold bag.  Hahaha.  However, I could not find the ice-creams I wanted as they had no stock.  Bought another type instead.

So coincidence to meet them there.

My very FIRST time to carry new born baby

This early morning, I was being disturbed and woke up at 6.30am by the noise made by my window blind.  My windows were not opened wide but due to the very strong wind outside, it caused my blind to flip and knocked onto the window grills.  It was so noisy until I could be waken up.  I usually can sleep through the night and will not wake up no matter how noisy is it.

Good weather when I woke up.  Windy outside and can feel the breeze in my kitchen. 

My mum had been wanting to go to Bugis temple for praying hence we decided to go today.  Our meeting time was 1.30pm at Bugis MRT station.  I took a bus to Paya Lebar MRT station and it was drizzling.  I made a stupid mistake to alight one stop earlier and also forgot to tap the card (was panicked that I got the wrong stop but too pai sei to not to get down as I was the only one who was getting down).  In the end, had to take another bus to the station.

We had lunch at MOF as we were all very hungry.  We ordered desserts too and they were good.

My sister went to a wake and my mum & I went to the temple.  After the praying, we took bus to Chinatown as I wanted to change currency for next week trip.  The rate went down a bit and is quite good at 1.295. 

Got to know that my cousin gave birth to baby boy and we decided to go and visit her at NUH this evening.  My mum, sister and me met up with my aunt and uncle at 7pm.  I finally carried new born baby!  At first, I refused to carry him when my cousin offered to let me try carrying him as  I had no confidence in carrying babies.  My cousin asked me to just hold my arms at a comfortable position and she carried the baby and laid on my arms.  Wow....  so happy to carry him.  He is so adorable.  He looks so tiny when I held him.  He is just 2.4kg and being induced out as doctor worried that he is too small and may be dangerous to wait till the due date on 23 Apr.  This is my FIRST time.  :)

After the visiting, we went for dinner at the Food Court.  My aunt's client said that the house they just rented has no gas and cannot cook for 2 days.  They are from India and cannot eat outside processed food.  One of the sharing tenant was so unreasonable and my aunt said she would buy an induction cooker for them.  If they make spoil, they have to pay for it.  My aunt was so angry with one of the man. 

As it was already past 10pm.  All electrical shops were closed.  We tried Clementi NTUC but it did not sell the cooker.  Hence my uncle drove us to NEX as I was very sure we can find it there and it is open 24hrs.  Managed to get the cooker at promo price of $34.90.

We decided to take cab home ourselves so that my uncle just needs to send my aunt to the unit at Bt Merah.  By the time we reached home, it was already 11.30pm.

Quite tired today due to the disturbance of sleep in the early morning.  I slept at 3am!!!

Its Friday!

Yippy!  It's Friday and movie time.

We had our weekly lunch at 313 Somerset.  Ordered set lunch for teppanyaki and we chit chatted while eating.  Followed by a drink at Toastbox.

We chit chatted and forgot about the time.  When we realised that its going to be 4pm and the girls had to rush back to office.  Oh dear... our lunch seemed to be dragging late.

Counting down, I only have another few times to lunch with them (minus those Fridays that I will be on holiday) before start work on my new job on 23 May.

Ah Huang wanted to go to Pasir Panjang wholesale centre to see if there is any good fruits to buy and I accompanied her there.  However, she did not buy anything as the mangoes were too many in a box and she cannot finish all (abt 25 - 30 pcs).  No stock for Korean strawberries so cannot buy.  She was so disappointed.

She sent me to HarbourFront MRT station and I just walked around for a while before meeting up with 小珠.  We went to Food Republic for dinner and proceeded to watch movie for tonight "G.I. Joe : Retaliation".

We did not watch the first movie but we had no problem following the story.  It was exciting throughout the whole 110mins.  Good movie.  Had an enjoyable night.

Today is Haruma's birthday.  Happy birthday!

Candy Crush Saga continuation

Ohhh Finally I managed to clear level 213 yesterday night.  I had stuck in this level for 2 days.  This level really needs luck to clear.

I spent my day playing and playing.  At the same time also played Slotmania.  At the same time also watched Hunter X Hunter.  Switching Candy Crush Saga and Slotmania while watching the anime.

My ipad charged 100% overnight and now left 39%.  Battery life is strong for ipad but with my playing non-stop, it also drained.

Nice instant Ramen

Today's topic is RAMEN.

Haha...  I finally took out one of the 2 packets of instant ramen I bought from Tokyo during Jan trip.  Did not have chance to cook it.  

The fishcake expiring in few days time and I better finish it.  Hence, decided to cook with the ramen.

I added some fish balls and meat balls, together with the Japanese fishcakes.  Yummy!  The ramen was good.  QQ ones.  

I saw this brand selling in supermarkets.  5 pkts cost about $9.  I remembered I paid just $1 each in Tokyo.  If my luggage still have extra space, I will buy some back in coming trip to Osaka.

Hot hot hot

All I can say is : HOT HOT and HOT.  Nothing can describe the weather for today except HOT!!!

I looking forward to next Saturday.  I want to get away for this hotness...

Had lunch with my mum and bro and once I stepped home, rushed for a shower immediately.  Sat and watch anime for the rest of my time.

Hot weather ~ but raining

The weather was very hot in the morning and early afternoon.  I was complaining to my mum that why the weather was so hot.  The sun was like staying in my house and its like I was in an oven.  Cannot tahan uh.

Had an appointment at 3pm to sign employment letter for my new job.  Finally the day came for me to confirm joining the co.  Took train there and after the meet up, I was surprised to see that the weather changed.  The sky became dark and it started to rain while walking to the mrt station.  Strange weather.

When I reached Pasir Ris, the floor was wet and it rained earlier.  However, the weather was still humid.  No sign of cool air. 

Back home and took a shower immediately.  Watched TV program aimlessly (no specific channel and just switch here and there) till dinner time.  Had early dinner today at 6.30pm and decided to see any j drama I can watch. 

In the end, I decided to watch the new series of Hunter X Hunter anime.  I could not remember the whole story actually.  Watched from epi 4 till 10 today.  I started first few epi earlier but stopped as I found that they were the same.  I restart now to refresh my memory.

Today is April Fool's day but no one make fun of me nor did I make fun on any one.  Hahaha.  Those were the days in school time that we enjoyed making fun of classmates on this day.
