Partially settled down

Today is rather chaotic for me. Reached new office at 10am and was busy cleaning and tidying up my desk for the whole morning.

Due to we are given 4 monitors attached to 1 CPU, we are rather "lost" on what to do with all the 4 screens. In my previous company, we were given 2 monitors so it was just nice. With 4, they occupied the whole space on my desk and I do not have space to put my files neatly. Have to think of a way now on how to pack my files properly for easy retrieval.

The office is huge and is a bit scary. Rows and rows of tables with 4 monitors. It's like a call centre. Ha ha... However, the space is good and the decor is not so o biang. Hee hee...

After much discussion and ideas given by one of my colleague, I decided to keep my laptop as a dummy set. I will transfer all my files to my desktop and keep my laptop at home. Whenever I need to work at home using my laptop, I will copy all my microsoft exchange files and data files in a portable disk. Just need to bring home the portable disk and overwrites the files saved in my laptop. A bit troublesome but this makes me easier where I need not carry my laptop to work everyday.

Hopefully tomorrow I can get use to the new workplace. Today I am not so efficient and had to clear back logs in the night time. Managed to leave office only at 10pm. Took a cab home and shall keep the receipt first. Still do not know if company allows us to claim taxi fare for working late.

K is back!

After so many days of trying, my "K" is back finally. I had been trying for so long and with no other way, I tried to search the web to find a solution. I could not let my "K" with no home.

Luckily, one of the posted You tube showed a similar type of key being taught how to fix back in laptop. After some trying, I managed to bring my "K" back home. So happy...

Today we went out for dinner and to our same old favorite place ~ Sushi Tei. All of us still like the food there and will not get sick of them. After dinner, I went to Popular Bookstore to buy some stationery so that I can use them tomorrow in our new office. The office will be very bare and we have to prepare our own stationery.

Look forward to tomorrow and I have to take a longer route to office now. From ex-company 1 hr 15mins to 1 hr in temp office and now 1 hr 30mins... Sad lei... When will 2nd phase Circle line be ready???

I had finished watching J drama "Gold" and was so happy of the ending. So heart warming that made me cried in the last episode. Managed to finish watching anime "Shugo Chara" too. Skipped some of those not so nice parts and just concentrated on the anime portion which was about 10mins per episode from 100 plus onwards. Finally cleared all the 127 episodes. Seems to have an open ending and may continue again.

Long chats

Met up with my ex-colleagues for dinner at T2. Meeting place was at near Burgar King but I went to the wrong direction and had a long walk back. Luckily I was just in time...

Decided to dine at Fish & Co and the 3 of us had big appetite to order so much food that we had to finish them slowly. Good that we had so much food... We ate while chatting and I think I had too little talk ing during weekdays at work that made me talk and talk non stop this evening. I miss those days while in ex company that I could talk and talk during lunch time.

After dinner, we went to Starbucks to have drinks. All of us were not in rush of time to go home hence we continue our chit chat from 7.30 to almost 11pm. Getting late and we really had to go home liao. Shall plan another day to continue... Hee hee...

Tomorrow, I will try to complete my photo sorting for my Aug trip to Tokyo with my sister. Better do so soon else she will grumble again. :P

Today marked the last day for us to work in our temp office. Felt a bit sad to leave this small little place where we spent 1 1/2 months there.

It was a tiny workplace for about 22 of us but it created a cosy area where everyone was so near to each other and brought us to know each other better. Few of my colleagues said they will miss this place. Same for me. I missed this place and the food around this office building. This location is real good that it is within walking distance to Chinatown, Raffles Place, Clarke Quay, Raffles City and Suntec etc.

In the evening, we started to clear our desks and kept all our stuffs in plastic bags so as to carry over to the new office next week. I kept mine in my colleague's car. Luckily she did not charge me storage fee. Hee Hee...

Where is K???

Super fast!!! Today is already Thursday! Time really flies...

This morning, I had a shock to see my "K" has dropped out from my laptop keyboard when I flipped open. Did not know how it happened but I had a hard time trying to figure out how to put it back. In the end, I left the "K" aside and just continue to do my work. A bit difficult to type without "K" key. Luckily not "J" missing (J is just beside of K). Ha ha ha... 小珠 will know what I meant.

Up till now, my "K" still cannot be fixed. Tried for 30mins at home but failed. Shall leave it first and wait for our IT guy to help.

Now looking forward to move to new office. Cannot stand the internet connection in current temp office. It always not working during crucial time and ended me having back logs and need to bring them back home to do.

Rain! Finally you are here!

This morning, I was telling my mum that the weather was so hot and by right it should turn cooler at this period.

So surprised to see darker sky when I took the MRT train from Pasir Ris towards Tampinese. True enough, it poured so heavily that the train which I took overshot its "parking" and had to reverse back in order to get align with the platform track. After a while, I heard some noise while the train moved and so afraid that it will break down. Luckily, nothing happened.

Reached City Hall MRT station and it was still raining. I brought umbrella hence could make my way to office. However, my shoes were soaked and I had difficulty walking. Walked so slow that motorists may wonder what happened to this person walking like an old woman. I had to be very careful while crossing the road. Had to ensure my shoe won't dropped while walking. So awkward.

Glad that it rained and did bring down the temperature. Felt so great without perspiring while I was on my way out for lunch. :)

Heard updates that we can move to our new office on next Monday. There is plan to move by this Friday afternoon to ensure all phone lines and computers are working well. Otherwise, we can move back to the temporary office on Monday until problems are fixed. Cross my fingers that we do not need to move back.

The new office location is further now and I will need at least 1 1/2 hrs to travel there. Waiting for 2nd phase circle line to complete by next year. That will cut down time waiting for bus from HarbourFront to Pasir Panjang (Labrador station).

This morning, I was perspiring when I walked from MRT station to our office. Had walked very slow but still could not stop the "water" from dripping. When will the weather turns better?

I went to customer's office from Raffles City to Suntec. It was sheltered all the way with air-conditioning but I still kept perspiring even when I reached customer's office. So pai sei and did not know if they saw my "water" dripping from my forehead and neck. :P

My colleagues went out for appointment and I had to lunch on my own. I am now so proud of myself that I can eat alone now!!! In the past, I will feel awkward eating alone but now... I am ok liao. Is it sign of old age??? Ha ha ha...

Almost cannot remember Chicken Pox

This morning, my colleague sms me that she is having 1 week MC as she is having chicken pox. Wow... for quite a long time, never heard of this chicken pox thing.

She was feeling unwell last Thursday night and thought that it was just that she had too much intake of second hand smoking in customer offices. Her fever developed in the night time and after 2 days, the pox pox thing appeared.

Still having fever and is painful that makes her sound so sick when I talked to her over the phone. Believe she will need to take at least 2 weeks MC so as to prevent spreading the virus in the office. I yet to have chicken pox but should be alright since I already taken vaccine.

Left office real late tonight at 9.45pm. So tired now and my whole head is full of work stuff. Why like dat lei???

Last day to enjoy

So fast that it's Sunday night. End of the long holiday. I managed to have time to watch J dramas and animes this afternoon. However, strange that this week there was no new episode released for Naruto. Need to wait for it patiently.

My niece is having fever and hence did not come to our house. Heard from my sister that her fever is subsiding but cough and running nose's signs are coming up.

Weather is still hot. Hope some raining will bring down the temperature.

End of relax day and tomorrow has to go to work again. So sad...

Haircut finally

Wow, felt so "light" now. Had my haircut this afternoon after many days of uncomfortable fringe. Too long liao...

After it was done, I met up with my parents and sister at Ngee Ann City to have dinner at Coca restaurant. It had been a very long time since I went to this restaurant. Perhaps I was very hungry plus too long never been there, I found the food was super. Just that we could not eat much as we started to become so full after the 2nd round of ordering.

We bought some mooncakes from the booths at the open area at B2. My sister bought from Garden Pastry and I bought the famous mini snow skin champagne white chocolate mooncakes from Fairmont hotel. Can enjoy them tomorrow. :)

The final round of 16th Ngee Ann City Lion dance competition was held today and we managed to watch the final group to perform before we took a cab home. Wow, they were super good. I did not watch lion dance for many years and this really impressed me. They were so swift and their moves were so good. Many people cheers for them. I only watched one group but I believed the rest were good too.

This afternoon, I was in my brother's bedroom study desk surfing net when suddenly I heard a loud glass breaking sound. Initially, I thought my sister broke glass bottle in our bedroom but it was not the case. One of the light bulb in our living room ceiling lamp broke.

My father was sitting very near to the area and was so lucky that it did not hit him. Due to the fall, the glass spilled all over the floor and we had to carefully clean them to avoid the small pieces of broken glass. We decided to change all the light bulbs to prevent same thing happening again.

Luckily all of us were at home when this happened. If it is usually weekday and not a holiday today, my mum will be scared by this sudden event. We are wondering why the glass wrapping the bulb can give way and dropped on the floor. Strange... or could it be due to our neighbour upstairs who always dragged their chair???

We went to Changi airport T1 for dinner tonight. I had not tried Astons before hence we decided to dine there. Wow... the portion was real big and we were so full after the dinner. Although we were very full, we still went over to T3 to have desserts/drinks at Coffee Club. I ordered the same dessert I had with 小珠 previously but a bit disappointed that the waiter who poured the chocolate sauce onto the chocolate ball was not too skillful. My chocolate ball melted and the icy raspberry sauce melted together with the hot chocolate sauce. I could not mix the vanilla ice-cream with the raspberry sauce...

Last day of work for this week

Tomorrow is Hari Raya Puasa holiday and is so glad that today will be our last day of work for this week. We can enjoy a long weekend.

Today, I went to distribute mooncakes for our customers and managed to get back to office at 3pm. Done some paperwork and busy time started again at 4.30pm.

Supposed to meet 小珠 at The Central for dinner at around 7pm but was delayed due to my boss needed to discuss some issue with us. I managed to sneak out of office at 8pm. So sorry to 小珠that I am always the one who is late for appointments.

We were surprised that it was so crowded in The Central which it never happens before. It could be due to the lantern festival display at clarke quay that drew crowds. Watami had never been so crowded before and we had to queue for a while before we could get seats.

Ordered 4 dishes and decided to eat slowly since we were not in a hurry. First and second dishes came quite promptly but after that, we waited for so long and were so puzzled that why it took so long for our balance 2 dishes. I think we did waited for almost 45mins and decided to ask the waiter to check for us.

It should be a case where they missed our dishes and finally they served us after 15 mins. So glad that the Teriyaki squid was so big and the grilled fish was so big and meaty. Wondering if it was a compensation for our waiting. We enjoyed tonight dinner except the long wait for our third and last dish. Luckily the food was good. Otherwise, it would spoiled our mood. Haha...

Just discover a nice bakery shop at The Central. My colleague bought a loaf of bread and offered to us yesterday evening. It was so soft and nice that we finished almost whole loaf and left just one slice for her.

Today, after making a few visits to our customer offices (distributing mooncakes), 2 of my colleagues and I were so hungry during evening time. My colleague could not bear the hunger as she could not concentrate on her work and went to The Central to buy some bread.

She bought one for me and it was piping hot when I ate it. The filling was chocolate banana and the outer layer had some crunchy bits that made the bread so unforgettable. The chocolate was so rich and smooth. Wow.... super the nice uh. It does taste like Japanese bread that I ate in Japan.

This will be one of my favorite bakery shop that I will visit again. Too bad that we are going to move to our new office and will not be so accessible from next month onwards. Therefore, must go and buy as frequent as possible now. Best is to make me sick of it and I will not crave for it. Ha ha ha.

打包

So tired...

Today was as busy as yesterday. I did not even have time to drink water in the office. Time passed so fast and there were so much thing to handle.

Left office at 9.30pm tonight and still have to 打包 work to do at home. Tomorrow is 八月初一 and we have to start distributing mooncakes to our customers.

Foresee will be beri beri beezee for the next 2 weeks.

Nice view

Went to our boss's boss apartment this afternoon. My boss said that we will not have a chance to see such good view if we missed it this time round. The apartment was just being vacant and this will be our only chance...

We were so amazed with the fantastic view. The living room is facing the spectacular view where we could see Marina Sands and the sea. The bedroom has unblocked view of Chinatown, boat Quay and Clarke Quay.

Really a waste if I did not follow them to the apartment. :P

Puzzle

My niece came and she was so glad that she was given a day off (need not do homework). One week school holiday starts tomorrow and she can do it tomorrow. Therefore, she was playing with her NDS and kept asking her father and me to play Mario kart with her. Again... I kept losing to her and asked if she had on the cheat mode. She kept saying no and to prove it, agreed to change her NDS with me.

In the evening, my sister took out a box of puzzle like game set. It was for 6 year old and above. Initially, I laughed at her for playing such "childish" game but in the end, we were all stuck in one of the puzzle. It looks simple but need patient to complete it. There are 3 levels with more than 20 games. Shall play with my niece again next week. This made me recalled that I have a set of wooden block puzzle bought from Japan. That is to use just 7 blocks to make different patterns. Quite challenging.

Started to watch J drama "Hammer Session". Watched the first 2 episodes and find the story quite good. I like school stories and this suit me. 小珠 recommended this drama and due to I have other dramas/animes to watch, did not watch until today.

Weekend always ends so fast...

Headache again

So unlucky that I had headache again when I woke up this morning. It made me so tired and head so "heavy" that I could not sit up straight. I kept laying on the sofa watching TV programs and had no interest to even surf net.

Took paracetamol and it did subside a bit. Today left me and my mum to have dinner. My sister went for hiking at Bukit Timah Hill and my dad had company dinner. We went to Sushi Tei as I was craving for the food there and also meant to collect my renewal card.

We ordered quite a few dishes and finished all of them. My mum enjoyed the dinner and we went to buy some groceries before taking a cab home.

My head is starting to have headache again now. Need to sleep early tonight.

Grown Ups

Well well well. It's Friday!!!

This morning, went to our main office for training again and finished at 1pm as our trainer had to go for a farewell lunch with the rest of the Finance dept colleagues before heading to airport to catch 4pm flight.

My colleague had lunch appointment with her husband hence I went for lunch alone today. Lunched at Burgar King near Esplanade MRT and I suddenly realised that I could lunch alone. In the past, I rather don't eat lunch than to have it alone. Sign of aging??? Hope not lah!!! Scary !!!

After lunch, I made a trip to Dhoby Xchange to collect my photo book. So glad that it turns out good. :)

Our movie tonight was at 9.20pm. Met up with 小珠 around 7.40pm and we had dinner at Toastbox. Saw the laksa and would like to try it as it looked yummy on the poster. Truth enough, it was tasty.



We watched "Grown Ups" and the story was nice. It was about five friends who used to play basketball during their younger days and had a gathering after attending their coach's funeral. It was nice to see their kids finally "put away" their video games and played games that kids should enjoy. Nowadays, do not know if children know what is "five stones" etc. Games played while I was a kid tends to become a history.

The movie had funny scenes and it made us laughed. A movie that made us relax after a tired and long day.

Dark Rings

Ai yoh... my dark rings are forming thicker and thicker. This week I kept having dreams during my sleep.

Previously, I seldom dreamed and always can have a good sleep through to morning. However, I found that I tend to have more dreams now. Scary part is that I could not remember any of the dreams and the chances of them becoming real are very high.

2 days ago, I just told my colleagues that I dreamed of the same scene when we were in the office. I knew the next action of my colleague after she talked. DEJAVU!!! Scary uh!!!

Just hope that these dreams are good ones. :)

Tomorrow we are going for movie again. Have to buy late show as I do not have confident to leave office early. Will try to leave early to meet 小珠 as she can leave office early. She had just resigned from the company and for some really bad action by the company, made her decides not to work late from now till she completes serving notice to the company. I was in same situation about 2 months ago. Why like this???

Training and training again

This morning, we went to our main office for our training at 10am. However, the trainer was engaged with another meeting and we had to loiter around until he finished. I went for coffee break with my colleagues while waiting.

We managed to start only at 12pm and we wasted 2 hours there. We could only go through for a few hours and need to rush back to office as it was our "working time" from 4.30pm onwards. Did not manage to do any sales today and will try harder tomorrow.

Today is our first day of starting to offer to customers and luckily my colleague did some orders. Good start lah. :)

PS : The only headache part is we do not know how to put the entries into SAP!!!
