No regrets

Friday! My favourite day of the week.

It rained in the morning that made the air more fresher. The haze was washed off and although it was still a little bit hazy, it was so much better than yesterday.

Not much enq today hence could finish my paperwork rather fast. Left office at almost 9pm to VivoCity to watch movie. The show started at 9.30pm. However, we still manage to have our dinner at KFC and was just in time to be seated before the show started.

The review for movie "I don't know how she does it" was not so good but we still decided to watch it. Saw the trailer and felt it should be nice as it was a comedy. Luckily we did not skip this movie due to the reviews. We enjoyed the show and glad that we did not miss it. Morale of the story is : Don't believe on others. Believe on your own judgement. Else you will be regretted.

Fire continues

This morning, we thought that the fire at Shell Bukom was contained last night as we did not see any more smoke coming out from the refinery. One of our colleague alerted that the fire was still there and it was not small but big. Looked to us that it had spread to a bigger area. It continued burning and stopped at early evening. Hope this time round, it is really contained.

Went to Tiong Bahru for lunch. The weather was so hot and I kept perspiring. Today, whole Singapore is so hazy (it is same now except it is dark and can't see well) and many people wondered if it was caused by the fire. I doubt so lah. The fire was not that big until made the whole Singapore with poor visibility. Real bad today. Luckily F1 race ended. With this type of visibility, it will be dangerous to drive the super the fast cars.

Got home late after clearing my work. Not 100% cleared but at least 85% lah. Tends to "spillover" my work now. No choice lah.

Pulau Bukom on fire

This afternoon, heard from my colleague who was still in office at around 1.30pm that he saw fire at Pulau Bukom (Shell refinery).

When I was back in office, I forgot the whole thing about the fire and didn't look out of the window. At around 6.30pm, heard some noises from my colleagues and was shock to see dark and thick smoke coming out from one of the tank at Shell refinery. After a while, saw quite a big fire. Believe there was explosion. The fire went bigger after around 10mins. It continued to burn until at around 7.30pm, it stopped.

Luckily it didn't spread and was contained. This is the first time and hope will be the last time to happen. We had a clear view from our office.

Had lunch with customer at Cedele cafe near our office. Ate a big and healthy sandwich. Ordered the set which came with a bowl of soup. Yummy.

U is 好人

Finally, the last episode of Jiu is out. Short drama with 9 episodes only. I believe there should be 2nd season as the story continues with conspiracy within high level of police force.

Sooo.... U is good person. Thought he was a spy in the SAT but it turned out that he was a good person. Too bad that he died so early in this drama.

Tuesday passed... Tomorrow is Wednesday. Half a week almost passed. Yippy!

Boss declared bonus for us. Did not know how much we will get but hope will be enough for me to go for another trip. Heehee...

Relieved

Glad to see that the colleague that left last Friday is feeling good and heard that she managed to get a new job on the day itself (ie Friday). Starting her new job next Monday. I believe she is happier to get this job as it should suit her better than she stayed in our company. It's the culture that not suitable for her here. All the best to her and we will definitely meet each other again as we are still in same industry.

Stayed late to clear my work. Now, I have to do more paperwork and handle more accounts. Hope I can handle them well. :)

F1 2011

Its the day of Formula 1 Racing : Singapore Grandpix 2011.

We went out for early dinner at Changi airport as my elder sister's flight to KL is 6.45pm. Therefore, had our dinner there with her and shopped around for a while before heading home. Just nice to watch F1 race when we reached home.

The race was rather interesting today with Lewis Hamilton's performance. He was like being dragged so much behind but still managed to catch up to no 5. Did not understand what had he done but was being commented as making silly mistake. Sebastian Vettel got no 1.

So fast that with months of preparation, this is the end of the event. Back to normal with no road blocks etc until next year.

Awesome

This afternoon, I was meeting few of my colleagues to have high tea at The Regent hotel.

Took a cab with my mum and sister to The Central at Clarke Quay. When I reached, I was having stomachache but I thought I could withstand the pain until I reached The Regent hotel but I was wrong. I zoomed into the toilet at Clarke Quay MRT station and told 小珠 that I would be late.

When I reached our meeting place, I could not find her. Called her but no answer as she was playing with her DS. Haha... I walked around the station hoping to find her. She mentioned she was waiting for me near This fashion but I could not see her. After walking around for 10 mins, managed to reach her and in the end, we realised that there was two This fashion shop at Dhoby Ghaut. OMG!

We waited for bus 36 and luckily it came rather fast. This bus service was affected by road closure due to F1 event. Initially we were so worried that this bus service would be cancel.

Reached the hotel and started to enjoy our awesome high tea. Ate and chit chat until 5.30pm. Walked to Orchard MRT station and ended up buying a blouse and some socks at Uniqlo. Enjoyed today very much.

Another round

Today, I rather felt guilty towards one of my colleague. I knew it will be her last day in our company but could not let her know what was going to happen to her in the evening. My boss did not want to confirm her as permanent staff and let her go.

We still had lunch together and without dropping any sign that she had to leave the company. In fact, majority of us who had lunch with her today knew it. For me, I would treat that this would be a last lunch with her while she was with us.

In the evening, I was busy with my work and believe she was rather upset until she did not even say goodbye to all of us. Quite bad but no choice to let HR overlook her packing and sent her. I think if she will curse our company and us for not giving her a chance to stay. She was given chances earlier but no changes made by her hence had to let her go. Hope she can find a company that suits her.

Went for movie as usual tonight. Watched "Abduction". It was a thriller and the plot was good. We enjoyed the movie. Had sandwich at Subway before the movie. Just in time to get seated when movie started.

Looking forward to tomorrow which we will be going for high tea at Tea Lounge @ The Regent Hotel.

Decision made

Went for lunch with customers today at Icon Village. This was my first time there and the set up for the restaurants street was so nice that I like it so much. We had lunch at a newly open Japanese restaurant. The food was quite good and reasonable. It is not those very posh restaurant. Something like an eatery kind.

My customer recommended a cake shop that sells very nice cakes. Heard the cakes are expensive but still there are people buying. I decided to buy 1 home, 1 for office and 2 for my customer. It is called Tofu Chiffon cakes. Very soft, nice and most importantly... healthy.

This will be one of my choice to buy snacks for customers. Must find more of such shops so that I have more choices. :)

Finally... boss made decision today. Tomorrow will be another "D-day" for me. It stands for distress day.... Another round of "砍人".

Last minute dinner

This afternoon, we were talking about "curry" when we were having lunch. Suddenly I remembered that I need to use the 2 vouchers bought from Groupon by tomorrow.

I quickly asked 小珠 to ask her mum not to cook and to go for dinner tonight at Mr Curry restaurant at The Central with me. The total value of the vouchers were $40. In order to utilise the 2 vouchers, I need to get at least 3 person. Asked Ah Xue to join us since it was on her way home (North East line).

The food was good but Ah Xue's ramen was a bit cold. I like the takoyaki. They were hot and nice. Will go there again.

Raining day again

This morning, the sun was so big and hot. The sky suddenly turned dark in the afternoon and followed by rain. It was so cozy but too bad, it was still working hour. How I wish it will rain during the night when I am sleeping. Want to have that cold cold sleep lei.

Tried to be home earlier tonight so that I can have more time to watch j dramas. There are a few new episodes that I want to watch. Shall try to clear as many as possible today. Else there will be "backlog" again.

Tired day

Woke up unwillingly. How I wish today is still Saturday. My wishful thinking.

Day in office as usual. Done few deals today hence very happy. Hope to do more deals to achieve my sales target.

Continued to play Wedding dash and simply too addicting uh.

Wedding Dash

Oh dear!!! I was addicted to the iphone game "Wedding dash". It was another version of Diner dash. It was so addicting that I kept playing until my phone no battery. Charged and continued to play until non-stop.

It was so exciting...

My niece joined me watching PPS again today. She went for swimming at the newly opened Pasir Ris Sport complex. I don't know how to swim so stay at home. Plus I had headache so preferred to stay indoor.

Watched some J dramas today and still there are some latest episodes not uploaded yet. Shall wait for them...

End of weekend. Tomorrow back to work. Still not enough rest...

Satisfying day

This morning, woke up and went to have lunch at nearby coffee shop with my mum and sister. The weather was super the hot. Each of us used our own umbrella to "repel" the uv.

Ordered the "everything in" bah chor mee. It was really good to eat on the spot. Pack back ones was not that nice as compared to the one we ate there while its hot. It will be best if the weather is nicer. Cos no aircon there uh...



Met up with 小珠 and Tulip this evening and we had a good time at Ritz Carlton Greenhouse. The seat I reserved was mistakenly set for a table with child seats. Hence, we moved to a few tables away. A bit open but still ok lah.

For the whole night, we concentrated on only the seafood and desserts. Did not touch those main dishes or soup. I ate 9 oysters and about 6 - 7 pieces of lobsters (half part each). Sashimi wise, just ate one portion of the salmon. Not too sure why today no craving for salmon sashimi.

Overall, I was very satisfied with this evening. Good food accompanied us for our gathering. :)

We left at about 11pm. We took circle line and both 小珠 and myself alighted at Paya Lebar station to change to east west line. I was going towards east direction and 小珠 going towards west direction. We were so shocked that the west bound train was actually the last train and if missed this, 小珠 could not get home by train and need to take cab. Lucky lucky uh.

Long time no such laughing

Today, we had lunch at VivoCity Food Republic. I ordered the Yong Tau Fu with curry sauce. This was my first time buying from this store after so many years. Not bad lah.



Quite lazy and had no mood to work. Waiting for the day to end soon. Watching movie tonight.

Had dinner at LJS before the movie. 3 of us tonight as Milo joined us. We had very good seats and were not late for the show. Finally uh...

We watched "Johnny English Rebord". It was a comedy. Main cast is Rowan Atkinson. No matter what he acted, his Mr Bean look is always with him. He was so funny in the show. Kept making audience laughed non stop. I like the part where he meddled the meeting room chair. I laughed until could not breathe properly and no voice uh. A very nice movie to make us laughed non stop. Glad that I did not miss it. :)

Tomorrow, we are meeting Tulip for dinner at Greenhouse @ Ritz Carlton. Lobsters, Oysters, ice-creams, Sashimi... here I come again. :P

Ride on a pretty new train home. I like the colour. So sweet.

Free lunch

Today, we had team lunch at Tanjung Pagar Complex's Ya Hua Bah Kut Teh. It was a lunch to welcome 2 colleagues from our China office. Quite long time did not drink the soup. It was so pepperish. I "smurf" it! :P

I was rather angry on something during evening time. Just don't not understand why such easy thing, people can drag and drag. I could not tahan and did the job myself.

Tomorrow going for movie. Looking forward to the comedy.

Raining

This morning, it looked like going to rain but it never until around 2pm. So tired and how I wished today no need to go to work.

Felt so lazy to work and glad that half day was gone which we went to Geylang for lunch. Had seafood hor fun in black bean sauce. It tasted good. Oh dear!!! Forgot to take photo...

Had last minute discussion and when back to my desk, I was rushing for time as there were so many enquiries to handle. Busy for 1 hour plus but with no deal done. So sad... Try again tomorrow lah. This is how I tell myself everyday.

So glad that tomorrow is Thursday.

Left office early but....

Today, not sure why but I managed to clear most of my work early. By 7.15pm, I declared I finished my work and ready to go home.

We left office at about 7.30pm. I was so glad that finally I could go home earlier. However, in the end, I reached home only at 9.20pm. I took almost 2 hours!!!

It was the feeder bus that I took so long to wait for it. I remembered that I was at the bus interchange when my aunt called me from NUH. She was giving my mum a lift after visiting my cousin who just gave birth. By the time I reached home, I was so surprised that my mum was already at home. So... I took at least 30mins to wait for the feeder bus + journey to my home from the interchange. So strange uh....

Well, hope I will have more chance to go back earlier. Felt so good today.

Hazy

It was so hazy today and the air was so smelly. If it continues, my nose sure will suffer.

Monday and I was feeling so tired. How I wish today no work. Kind of envy that my sister can take leaves and now enjoying herself at Krabi. Shall plan for a short trip after next month trip to Taiwan, if possible. Need to wait for boss to be in good mood and then ask for it. :P

Shall rest earlier tonight...

Horror

My niece came today and she spent her afternoon watching horror movies with me. She was so brave to watch them and of course lah, she had a pillow with her covering part of her face. Same as me lei...

Those are japanese movies. They were not too horrified but still a bit eerie lah. In the end, she had to stop at part of the movie and went home. I told her we will continue next week.

So... my whole day was spent in watching PPS movies and dramas. Sad that tomorrow is Monday again. Have to wait for another 5 days before Friday comes.
